The rapid expansion of gas and oil drilling using hydraulic fracturing (fracking) threatens human health, the environment and the communities. Healthcare providers need knowledge and training to assess and respond to health and safety issues related to drilling, especially fracking. Nurses, healthcare providers, public health officials, and community health advocates: join us for a day of education and inspiration to learn how you can help safeguard health and land.

We have a wonderful lineup of speakers, including:

Living and Working Among the Gas Fields: Problems and Health Effects Reported by Residents and Workers – Jill Kriesky, MS, PhD

Navigating Medical Issues in Shale Territory – Poune Saberi, MD, MPH

Voices of the Women: Giving a Voice to Those Living in the Gas Fields – Lenore Resick, PhD, CRNP, FNP-BC, NP-C, FAANP; Lydia Greiner, BSN, MSN

Clean Energy 101: Recognizing, Educating, and Advocating for Healthier Energy Choices – Laura Anderko, PhD, RN
