Slippery Rock farmers’ market wraps up with “Harvest Halloween”
Slippery Rock Community Farmers’ Market will be open for its final two weeks through October 25th on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until noon at Rock Falls Park (on Route 173 south of Slippery Rock). Vendors will have fall fruits and vegetables, as well as local meats, baked and preserved goods and unique, handcrafted items.
From now through the end of the market season, Sutton Farms will feature special prices on selected cuts and limited edition value packages of their local, grass-finished beef. Additional events, including music, children’s activities and informative displays and demonstrations are scheduled at the market to foster awareness, friendships and fun. “Rodgers & Anderson,” a local classic acoustic rock, folk & blues duo, will perform on October 18th, weather permitting. On October 25th, the market will celebrate a “Harvest Halloween,” with vendors and customers alike encouraged to wear their most creative costumes! There will be pumpkin decorating, costume judging and games for children and refreshments for all.
