“Strategic Energy Management for your Municipality” event May 30, 2019

Re-Imagine Butler County*, a project of Marcellus Outreach Butler, the League of Women Voters, and Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau, will co-sponsor “Strategic Energy Management for Your Municipality” this coming Thursday, May 30, 2019. (Additional co-sponsors include Sustainable Pittsburgh, PennFuture, Solbridge Energy Advisors, and others.) Although municipal leaders are particularly encouraged to attend, the session will present information of interest to anyone concerned about advancing sustainability, saving taxpayer money, and improving community resiliency.

The event will be held from 5:30 PM ’til 8:00 PM at Cranberry Highlands Golf Course, 5601 Freshcorn Road, Cranberry, PA. Admission is free, but registration is requested. Food and beverages will be served. Register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/save-money-for-your-tax-payers…
(Further details about the event, including a list of speakers, also may be found on the event page.)

Learn from local municipal leaders who have guided the installation of large-scale solar and energy efficiency projects for their communities–projects showing dramatic money saving results. (e.g. electricity meters that run backwards, paying YOU for electricity!) Hear from energy efficiency and solar experts about common mis-perceptions and/or issues concerning energy projects, and improve your understanding of energy management best practices for municipal governments

The discussion will cover financing options that municipal leaders can consider and funding that is available from state and federal governments and private investors.

There will be time to network with peers and/or speak directly with experts in financing, solar consulting, energy efficiency, and community engagement and resiliency.
