The Macoskey Center at Slippery Rock University will be hosting a fall Harvest Fest on October 26, 2013 from 1-5 PM . Local sustainable vendors, food vendors, apple cider and apple butter demonstrations, interpretive programs, games, contest, and live music will fill the day!
· 1:00 PM – Canning Demonstration
· 1:30 PM – Sustainable Harvest and Garden Preparation Interpretive Talk
· 2:00 PM – Scarecrows for Coats – Come enter our scarecrow building contest for a cause! Prizes will be awarded for the scarecrow with the most clothes, and the most creative scarecrow! We will supply the straw and wooden support, participants must bring their own clothing and coats. All items will be collected and donated to the local shelter after the event.
· 2:30 PM – Nature Hike and Leaf Painting
· 3:30 PM – Pumpkin Carving Contest
· 4:00 PM – Harvest on the Farm: A Living History Interpretive Walk
· 4:30 PM – Scarecrow/Pumpkin Carving/Bake-Off Judging and Winners Announcement
